Description of Program: Join turtle and tortoise biologist Chris Leone of Garden State Tortoise for a live journey around the globe as we meet tortoises from some of Earth’s most fascinating ecosystems. From familiar favorites to some of the rarest tortoises on the planet, you’ll discover their incredible adaptations, natural history, and the conservation challenges they face. Meet live ambassadors from several continents while learning how habitat loss, the illegal wildlife trade, and dedicated conservation efforts are shaping the future of these remarkable reptiles. Perfect for all ages and anyone with a love of wildlife and the natural world.
Speaker Bios: Chris and Casey Leone are a husband-and-wife team who operate a 400+ turtle and tortoise sanctuary, ethical breeding facility, and rescue. As international speakers and lifelong reptile educators, they travel the world to film while also studying species in their natural environments and at home. Chris is a field herpetologist, Casey comes from the zoo world, and together they care for more than 50 species while using their social media platforms to educate, inspire, and protect turtles and tortoises worldwide.
