OUTDOOR EXPLORERS: ANIMAL TRACKS AND SIGNS
Find out which mammals call Irvine their home as we explore for their tracks and signs. Make prints in clay and learn about track size and shape and different stride patterns. Then take home your own small tracking book. Dress for the weather, program is held outdoors. Ages 8-12

OUTDOOR EXPLORERS: NESTS AND BIRDS
Explore the world of birds as we learn about their amazing adaptations from feathers to bills. Try your hand at building a successful nest and discover the secrets of an egg’s strength before watching for birds at Irvine’s bird blind. Ages 8-12

OUTDOOR EXPLORERS: FLOWER SPECIAL
Let’s see if April showers have brought May flowers. Go on a flower scavenger hunt for different flower shapes and colors and learn how the partnership between pollinators and plants has created the variety we see. Dissect a flower to see how they perform the job of seed creation. Then we will create flower cards – just in time for Mother’s Day. Dress for the weather, program is held outdoors.

OUTDOOR EXPLORERS: BUG BONANZA
This year the woods will be filled with the songs of cicadas. Discover how they make so much noise and their amazing lifecycle. Compare these insects with others that we find on a bug hunt at Irvine as we explore the world in miniature. Dress for the weather, program is held outdoors. Ages 8-12
